'We Don't Need Another Hero' -- we've already got Tina Turner on the scene. This amazing songstress began belting out tunes and showing off her moves while still in high school in St. Louis, Missouri in the 1950s. Teaming up with Ike Turner, she started as a backup singer in his band, which soon became the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. The two married and toured the U.S., earning popularity and a gig as opening act for the Rolling Stones in 1969. While their music careers were reaching great heights, however, their marriage was crumbling, and Ike began to show his domineering (read: violent) side. In 1976, Tina walked out on Ike and into a wildly successful solo career.
