Meryl StreepMeryl Streep This double Cancer has been named the 37th Greatest Movie Star of all Time by Entertainment Weekly. 'Let's face it, we were all once 3-year-olds who stood in the middle of the living room and everybody thought we were so adorable. Only some of us grow up and get paid for it.' Mary Louise Streep studied to be an opera singer when she was a young girl. She grew up in suburban New Jersey and attended Bernards High School. This is an incredible 14th Academy Award nomination for Meryl. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her part in Adaptation (2002). On September 16, 1988, Meryl was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her performance in Sophie's Choice holds the Number 3 spot on Premiere magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Performances of All Time. Her 1983 portrayal of Karen Silkwood comes in at Number 17.
