Krista J. Allen was born in Southern California to Katherine Raposa and Dalton (Dale) Allen, Sr. She grew up in Texas. Her father's side of the family had lived in Texas for several generations. She and her older brother, Dalton Jr., are of Portuguese, English and Irish descent. Her parents are divorced and both remarried. She attended Austin Community College where she majored in education until she decided to pursue a career in showbiz.
