Krista AllenKrista Allen This double Aries A-lister is also a hard-working single mom. 'I'm a firm believer that it's not the way you look or what you have, but what you've got inside.' Krista J. Allen was born in Southern California to Katherine Raposa and Dalton (Dale) Allen, Sr. She grew up in Texas. Her father's side of the family had lived in Texas for several generations. She and her older brother, Dalton Jr., are of Portuguese, English and Irish descent. Her parents are divorced and both remarried. She attended Austin Community College where she majored in education until she decided to pursue a career in showbiz. 'I just didn't know what the heck I wanted to do with my life,' recalls Krista, 'so I drove out to California and got really lucky.' Indeed, she had only been in L.A. a few months when she got a part on 'The Bold and the Beautiful.' She was 22. Next she snagged the sexy title role in the 7-part movie series Emmanuelle (1994), followed by parts in action/comedy Rolling Thunder (1996) and indie horror flick The Haunted Sea (1997). In 1996 she got another big break in the world of daytime TV with the role of devious drug addict Billie Reed in 'Days of Our Lives.' That run of 40 episodes lasted three years. In 1999, after doing 5 episodes of 'Baywatch Hawaii' she became a regular on the show, playing Jenna Avid for 2 years and 27 episodes. She appeared in numerous other TV series including 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,' 'Smallville,' 'Just Shoot Me,' 'Charmed,' 'Monk,' 'The X Files' (one episode, as Jade Blue Afterglow) and 11 episodes of 'What About Brian' (2006-2007). In 2005 Krista, Bryan Greenberg and Jennifer Hall played themselves on HBO's 'Unscripted,' produced by Steven Soderberg and George Clooney's company, Section Eight. 'From humiliating jobs and padded resumes to professional breakthroughs, 'Unscripted' offers a revealing look at the sometimes raucous, often disillusioning world of the struggling actor.' Her son was included in the cast for an extra touch of reality. Says Krista, 'It was an interesting element they put in there. I am a single mom, and I am working to support myself and my son, and that was a realness that was added into the show. It was really fun working with him. I was so incredibly proud of him. I thought he was amazing.' Her films include Sunset Strip (2000), Face Value (2001), Totally Blonde (2001), Mutant X (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), Anger Management (2003), Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding (2004), Shut Up and Kiss Me! (2004), Meet Market (2004) and Feast (2005). For 2007, she has completed work on All Along, Strange Wilderness, The Third Nail and Business Class. Sun in Aries indicates Krista is a person who believes in being totally true to herself and her own convictions, even if it means standing alone. Honesty and authenticity are her watchwords, and she has no sympathy for weakness of character in others. She loves action and if others are settling down into a nice, comfortable rut, she is always ready to stir things up. She is not afraid of trying something that's never been done before. Taking risks and following her own star are essential to her. She is spontaneous, enthusiastic and self-assured. Sun opposition Uranus suggests that if she is following her true nature, her life is apt to be unconventional and full of excitement. She cannot and will not be forced into a pre-set mold and she finds it difficult to conform. Her offbeat interests and tastes lead her into ventures that others may consider too far-out or experimental. She has a very creative, inventive streak. Mercury in Aries makes her doubly outspoken and direct. She is always eager to express her ideas and opinions and doesn't mind going against the grain or stirring up a little controversy. She has fresh, original ideas and much enthusiasm for anything new. She speaks decisively and convincingly about things she believes in, and may be somewhat deficient in tact. Mercury sextile Saturn gives her a great capacity for concentration and learning about subjects others might find too technical. She could easily become a teacher in a specialized field of knowledge. Practical applications and techniques are her forte. In speech she tends to be factual and to the point. Mercury trine Neptune tells us she is open and receptive to subjects, which defy rational explanation, such as psychic phenomena, mental telepathy or metaphysics. Her mind is imaginative and inspired and she has an aptitude for art and creative writing. Venus in Gemini reveals that in love she is more interested in a person's sense of humor and intelligence than in their physical appearance. She likes a partner who is mentally alive and who keeps her guessing. Someone who never asks questions or surprises her would leave her restless and bored. Talking, sharing ideas, going places together and learning new things together is very important to her happiness. She needs lots of social stimulation, is something of a flirt, and likes to have many friends of both sexes. A possessive, jealous partner would be very stifling for her. She met Justin Morrit while she was working on 'Days of Our Lives.' They were married on September 14, 1996 and have a son, Jacob Nolan, born in July of 1997. She and Justin were divorced in 1999. She met and began a two-year relationship with George Clooney while making Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Venus conjunct Mars suggests she is extremely amorous and it is difficult for her to go without romantic involvement for very long. Doing creative or artistic work can help satisfy her strong desire for love and beauty. Mars in Gemini guarantees she is vigorous, restless and forever on the go. Her active mind is always buzzing with ideas and she finds it difficult sometimes to relax or take time to replenish herself. She tends to live on nervous energy. With a sharp and eager mind, she likes to match wits with others. She often achieves her goals by using her ability to speak clearly and convincingly for what she wants. Her drive and energy are more mental than physical. Jupiter in Capricorn gives her an innate shrewdness. She has the ability to develop a clear strategy and follow it carefully. She also has a natural sense of order and self-discipline. She is likely to excel, both because she is ambitious and because it is very important to her to do a professional job, no matter what field she is in or how humble the task. Jupiter opposition Sun/Pluto promises she has the ability to go far and to establish her position in life successfully. Saturn in Gemini may cause her to doubt her own intelligence and she may work very hard to compensate for this. Disinterested in light or superficial conversation, she can be too serious. Spontaneous communication and making small talk are likely to be difficult for her. Saturn opposition Neptune means that a conflict between her spiritual needs and her material desires will be one of her challenges. It may be hard for her to sort out her true values, especially when she is enmeshed in the demands of mundane life. Spirituality and voluntary simplicity could be helpful in this regard. 'Life is too short not to do a little practical joking.' |
