This fascinating and multi-talented Pisces is one of Hollywood's greatest villains.

'Acting, to me, is about the incredible adventure of examining the landscape of human heart and soul. That's basically what we do.'

Glenn Close's Tarot Reading

Glenn Close earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama and anthropology at the College of William and Mary. Her first showbiz appearance was in Up With People (1964). Her first Broadway appearance was at The Phoenix Theatre as an understudy filling in for an actress who was let go; she went on to win three Tony Awards. Her first Best Actress (play) was in 1984 for her role in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing. In 2002 she won her second Best Actress (play) for her part in Death and the Maiden. Her third Tony was Best Actress (musical) for her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard (1995). After a succession of TV gigs in the 1970s, her transition to film began with roles like Jenny Fields in The World According to Garp (1982) and Sarah Cooper in The Big Chill (1983). Her (uncredited) voice overdubs Andie MacDowell's thick southern accent as Miss Jane Porter in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984). She also appeared in The Stone Boy (1984), The Natural (1984), Jagged Edge (1985) and Maxie (1985).

Her disturbing portrayal of Alex Forrest in Fatal Attraction (1987) holds the Number 7 spot on the villains' side of the American Film Institute's list of 100 Years of the Greatest Screen Heroes and Villains; it stands at Number 36 on Premiere Magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time. 'Bunny boiler is now part of our language,' says Glenn, 'and I'm proud of that.'

She wrapped the '80s with Dangerous Liaisons (1988) and Immediate Family (1989). Next came her portrayal of Sunny von Bulow in Reversal of Fortune (1990) as well as roles in Hamlet (1990), Meeting Venus (1991), Hook (1991), Isabel Allende's The House of the Spirits (1993), The Paper (1994) and Mary Reilly (1996). She played another unforgettable villain, Cruella De Vil, in 101 Dalmatians (1996). After appearing in Mars Attacks! (1996), Paradise Road (1997), Air Force One (1997) and Cookie's Fortune (1999) she finished out the '90s as the voice of Kala in Tarzan (1999). Glenn reprised the evil Cruella de Vil in 102 Dalmatians (2000) and was the voice of Blue Fairy in the English version of Pinocchio (2002). She appeared in Le Divorce (2003) and The Stepford Wives (2004), followed by many TV projects including The Lion in Winter and multiple episodes of 'Will and Grace,' 'The West Wing,' 'The Simpsons' and 'The Shield.' 'I had a great time on 'The Shield,'' she said. 'From working on it I have a totally different view of law enforcement.' Most recently, she has completed production on Evening (2007) and the 'Glenn Close TV Project' (2007).

Sun in Pisces means Glenn is more lover than fighter. She will avoid conflict when possible. She is fluid, open and somewhat passive. Stating the obvious, the planets tell us that her gifts lie in the realm of the creative, artistic or musical for she has great sensitivity and limitless imagination. She responds very strongly to beauty and to love.

Mercury in Pisces makes her more of a poet than a scientist, for her mind does not function in a strictly linear fashion. The language of music, art or poetry is natural to her and she is able to think in highly abstract and symbolic terms. Very intuitive, she is able to sense others' thoughts and feelings even before they speak. She often forms an opinion about a person or situation without much factual knowledge and her impressions are usually correct. She can become so immersed in her own thoughts that she may overlook things in her immediate environment. She is extremely open-minded and believes that anything is possible. Intangible or spiritual forces seem just as real to her as the material world. Her imagination and her sympathetic understanding of other people are two of her greatest gifts.

With Venus in Aquarius she is open and unconventional in her attitude towards love and romance. She enjoys socializing, bringing people together and having many friends of both sexes. She values friendship very highly and may be more comfortable as a friend than a lover. She desires an intellectual rapport or spiritual bond with her love partner. The role of 'wife' in the traditional sense doesn't appeal to her. She appreciates a partner who will allow her plenty of freedom and is not very emotionally demanding. In 1969 she married Cabot Wade. They were divorced in 1971. She and James Marlas were married in 1984 and divorced in 1987. In 1987, she had a daughter, Annie Maude Starke, with John Starke. On February 3, 2006 she married David Shaw, a businessman who makes medical devices for veterinarians. Venus opposition Pluto suggests that intimate relationships are the arena in which she plumbs the depths. She could fall intensely and fanatically in love and be obsessive, extraordinarily jealous, or deeply involved with partners. She will experience both heaven and hell in her closest relationships -- if not in real life, at least in the roles she plays.

Mars in Pisces reiterates that she is noncombative, noncompetitive and something of a pacifist. She will give something up rather than fight for it. She does not have a strong ego drive for winning at the expense of someone else and can be quite happy in a supporting role, working for the benefit of others or for a cause she believes in. She has many dreams, high ideals and a strong mystical or religious impulse. She also has a creative imagination and can successfully apply herself to art or music.

Jupiter in Scorpio indicates her strength lies in her unwillingness to settle for superficiality. She is not afraid of going to extremes and experiencing the depths. The mysterious and the unknown are very attractive to her. Her intuitive understanding of others' inner drives and motivations is highly developed. Jupiter opposition Mars/Pluto means she has her goals clearly in mind and uses her energy correctly to accomplish them. She has a strong desire to achieve great things, and with enough ambition and tenacity to carry through, she is likely to be astonishingly successful. 'With the hugely talented women I've worked with or observed,' says Glenn, 'it's not a question about temperament or ego; it's a question about getting it right. If they've got a reputation for being difficult it's usually because they just don't suffer fools.'
